"Around Midnight it Started to Rain"
"Now that construction has ended, we can reflect on the process.
When we first met Chris Russell, our impression was of quiet confidence and a sincere desire to help us with a large remodeling project. We hired Estero Builders. Before major construction actually started, we went ahead with a small guest bathroom project we thought we could handle on our own. Chris offered suggestions on the bathroom, but we did it our way because we had done our own work in the past.
That simple bathroom ended up costing us almost double what it should have since we ordered expensive tile from a vendor that Chris had recommended we not use. Not only was the tile way over priced, but critical finishing pieces weren't ordered because the vendor never recommended them and we didn't know better.
We learned from that experience to trust Chris, not to second guess his recommendations, and keep our input to paint colors and materials, not vendors or sub contractors.
Not only is Chris extremely professional and reliable, but he's easy to work with, displaying a great sense of humor which makes the process so much easier.
Speaking of sub contractors, Chris at the start asked us to allow him to use only his work force. We initially thought we could get more accomplished if we brought in some of our own hires to fill in during any lulls in construction. We quickly learned that Chris's contractors are true professionals, extremely well-versed in their specialty and friendly, easy-going types as well. The entire team works well together and backs each other up without complaint. We also discovered their wasn't any real down time with his crew; even rain just moved them inside to complete another facet of the construction.
Around midnight, it started to rain unexpectedly, and a few minutes later we heard hammering near the roof. It was Chris, up on the roof, securing in place large tarps over an exposed portion of the house that didn't yet have a roof! How many contractors do that!
All of his sub contractors are true artisans. Each discipline works at an extremely high level of competence. You know when the individual has finished, that it is perfect.
It has been three years since we finished the remodel, and not a single issue has occurred. But we know that if something would arise, Chris and his crew would be there for us. It's comforting to feel that secure!"
