Craftsmanship

Modern building is really the art of balancing time, money, and aesthetics to achieve the maximum durability, functionality, and beauty. We believe in the fewest possible steps to achieve our intended result.  Our backgrounds in finish carpentry guide our priorities from the concrete through to the moldings.  We utilize the metric system because it offers us a more precise and efficient increment in which to work, and we have developed systems to treat each aspect of the job like a production line.  We believe the greatest testament of quality work is how it wears through time, and our investment in crafstmanship ensures our work will wear well for a very long time.

Relationship

The relationship between contractor and client is a very important one and must be based on trust. When clients choose to build or remodel their homes, they invest both emotionally and financially in the process and the outcome. We recognize that investment and honor the important context of our work.  Our clients don't just credit us for our work, they commend us for our committment to sustaining a long-lasting and enjoyable relationship with home and owner.

Sustainability

We all define the term "sustainability" differently.  For one client, it meant us building the first rammed-earth house in the county, for another a straw-bale home, and for another a passive solar getaway. For us, sustainability has as much to do with the quality of the work and the relationship as it does with the materials and new or old technologies used. If we build what the client desires with an eye on its enduring qualities, we have succeeded in creating something that will sustain its value.
